Right in the heart of the historical quarter, just behind the Piazza de la Republic, lies Montalto, a House of distinction believed to be approximately 400 years old Apartamento “ Vista Piazza” is on the second floor of that house up a very elegant flight of stairs from the large entrance hall.
The apartment has been sympathetically restored keeping the ethos of days gone by (as evidenced by the polished floors), whilst bringing it into the 21st century with a modern kitchen and bathrooms. No expense has been spared to furnish the property which contains Chinese rosewood furniture, leather sofas and indeed everything a guest might require, namely satellite TV, Internet, washing machine and air conditioning The apartment comprises Inner vestibule, (shared with apartamento “Vista Piazza”* also on the second floor*).
Own front door leading to Large living room with Piazza views Seperate back terrace with outdoor furniture Large dining room for more relaxed dining. 2 bedrooms accessed from the living room 2 bathrooms (one on suite)
No more than a few minutes’ walk away you will find a church, bank, grocery store, fish shop, pharmacy, optician, butchers shop, fruit and vegetable shop, bakery, cake shop, tobacconist, hairdresser, florist and of course numerous bars and restaurants and the old castle The nearest car park to the apartment is less than a minute away just outside the castle. If full there are a number of other car parks near by, but all charge for parking at 1 euro an hour. The sea is very easy to reach from the apartment via a ten minute walk down to the Marina or a 5 minute tuk tuk ride from the main piazza. Further along the marina is the little train station PIzzo from which guests can take trips to the renowned Tropea to taste unusual flavoured ice creams. (Tickets to be bought from the Tobacconist in the square). At the top of the Town is the main station with connections to Naples, Rome and beyond for those who which to travel further afield.
Pizzo old town has a busy tourist and local vibe that many come to love. Many choose to stay.
